Product Details:
The Babylon Spritz is the flagship of Haus of Babylon, the first adult non-alcoholic beverage brand from the Middle East, founded in Dubai by Annabel Arcari-Bowler after she grew frustrated searching for something sophisticated and genuinely complex in the emirate's NA landscape. This is a proper, artisanally distilled 0% aperitif built from Middle Eastern regional botanicals including tamarind, allspice, and hibiscus, macerated and then distilled in a traditional copper potstill using the same fractionated distillation method applied to alcoholic spirits. The result is an extraordinarily complex, bitter, viscous non-alcoholic aperitif with genuine mouthfeel that does not dilute with ice.
Award-winning. Women-owned. Dubai-made. Vegan. Gluten-free. Low sugar. 0.0% ABV.
How it Tastes:
Bright amber-orange in the glass with a viscosity that immediately signals its complexity. The nose opens with floral saffron and dried hibiscus, with a herbal, aromatic quality reminiscent of a high-end Italian aperitivo. On the palate, it is assertively bitter. Bitter orange and quinine dominate the front, supported by rhubarb, allspice, and warm cardamom in the mid-palate. The finish is long and genuinely surprising: tamarind arrives at the back, adding a dark, sweet-sour earthiness that sets this apart from every other NA aperitif. As Drinkhacker noted, it's "very bitter — bitter orange, yes, but heavy on the bitter" with floral saffron, dried hibiscus, rhubarb, and a tamarind finish that throws you for a loop. Best diluted with tonic, soda, or sparkling wine in a Spritz build; equally striking in a Nahgroni, Dubai Sour, or Espresso Spritztini.
